Displaying dependencies

Post by davidh »

Bypassing an image (without dependency) somewhere above images that have dependencies (linked to other trees) also triggers refresing of all these auxiliary trees even though there is no dependency at this tree level yet.
You can see the all images in the auxiliary trees blink brown for a fraction of a second, (as the refreshing of the main tree propagates downstream through the images with dependencies), before they turn gray in the end again.

I would not see it as a problem, but if you have more trees that provide auxiliary images (e.g. watermark, composite, halftone screen, etc.) to the main tree, there could be a lot of blinking before everything gets refreshed.

Displaying dependencies is no doubt very useful, especially dependecies between multiple trees, including depencencies between auxiliary trees themselves. However, is it necessary to display them permanently?

Previously displaying the coloured dependencies could be switched off.
I would suggest displaying dependencies using the Show or hide selection tool bar button, for example.
