Large Precise Gaussian Blur Radius Causes Crash

Post by jfoster »

To reproduce, load 48-bit tiff. Open Precise Gaussian Blur transformation. Select radius > 32. PWP crashes. (8.0.43)

I don't see it crashing here, but with large radius values, even updating a small preview can be quite slow.

Open the checkerboard test pattern.
Convert it to 48-bit color.
Set Precise Gaussian Blur to radius of 64.
Crash.

I could send a screen capture video if that helps.

Jonathan,

For what it's worth, mine also crashes on Linux/wine as well. Silently, set radius on checkerboard to 64, window closes.

I just checked it out of curiosity on Windows 10. Precise Gaussian Blur, Checkerboard Test Image, default settings, 8bit with Radius=64 (the control panel small preview gets slower) and at some other large value, even smaller than 64, crashes PWP silently.
