Workflow and breakpoints

I found a strange behaviour using a workflow with breakpoints in conjunction with the save widget:
- the starting image is a *.jpg
- Output File Type: unchanged
If my workflow contain a breakpoint, the new image is save with a .jpg suffix, but is internally a tiff-file
If my workflow does not contain a breakpoint, the new image is a "real" jpg-File.
If I set Output File Type: jpeg it is ok in both cases.
This seemes to be an old feature: same behaviour with PWP Pro V6
