The Grid tool would deserve additional, more finer options, at least twice as many.
Left and Right Golden triangles in the Grid tool would be very helpfull as well. It is good to have a swift and ready tool to check the composition as the process goes on.

I was noticing the Grid tool had fallen behind the composition grid options in the Crop transformation and was thinking of duplicating the composition guide code in the Grid tool.

That would be fine. The variety of compositional guides in the Grid Tool is also useful when you want to check the changes in the composition with or after the transformations that may alter it like Add Border, Displace, Frame and Layout, but are without a guide control themselves.
