Horizontal Hue Range Color Bar missing

The horizontal Hue range color bar is missing from the Mask Tool - Brightness Curve channels HSV-H and HSL-H... ...intentional?
Also, for the Mask Brightness Curve for Hues, a vertical tone bar black [bottom] to white [top] might be more appropriate than white to black to white [bottom to top] with the shown diagonal default curve. [re-editied in italics]
Further suggestion:
1) would it be possible for 10x10 grids to have added width lines or be colored or markers at their 50% vertical and 50% horizontal grid lines?...
