The default opening of the Mask dialog sets the mask tool to "freehand"....could this be changed so that no tool is selected on opening?

The paint brush tool is exhibiting strange behavior...drawing a mask where none was created when first applied. Also the program sometimes goes into a "loop" causing a "not responding" message and using lots of processor.

I like the way we can now create a new mask whilst in another transformation (say brightness) by selecting the mask button beside the slider

With a set of radio buttons, one of them needs to be selected all the time. You would need to select a tool anyway before you can mask, so it does not really matter which one is initially selected.

I see the problem with mask paint -- will work on this soon.
