Word wrap in layout panel text box?

Post by greglovern »

If I create a Layout Transformation, and add a panel, and type text into the textbox, I get normal word wrapping in the textbox in the panel dialog. But when I click Apply in the Layout dialog, all the text in the new image is on one line.

It works to add hard carriage returns, but is it possible to get it to do word wrapping?

I'm using Picture Window Pro 5.0.1.11.

Thanks,

Greg

Greg, it's almost impossible to get it work like you want.
When its placed in the layout panel, the text is not a taxt anymore, but a graphic, so there is no chance to check if it contains multiple words or if it is just one word.
It is just inserted as a pixel graphic of the text in the selected font size.
And due to different text panel and /or font sizes it is not possible to calculate any word wrap in advance, you can resize the panel with the text, for example.
So the only way to get a new line is to use Return.

For various technical reasons the only way to get line breaks in the text on the result image is to insert them by hand. On the other hand this has the advantage that line breaks don't move around when you change the font or the size of the panel.
