Hi Kiril:
curve transformations.
i) brightness curve
open an image
menu transform | gray | brightness curve
a) histogram to medium expansion
b) curve to stair step
c) control point at [60, 60]
d) CANCEL button
e) re-open brightness curve. Everything same, except a) histogram resets to linear.

now compare: ii) color curve
open an image
menu transform | colors | curves
a) histogram to medium expansion
b) curve to stair step
c) control point at [60, 60]
d) CANCEL button
e) re-open brightness curve. a) histogram reset to linear; c) ALL control points are gone (not reset GONE !).

What should happen with CANCEL button? The MS UX Guide, p11, says: "Label a button Cancel if canceling returns the environment to its previous state (leaving no side effect)." PWP is not doing this and I can see that it is helpful to retain the settings to either refine the adjustment at later time, or apply same transform to another image. The user can return to default transform settings with the option button | reset.
The button should be labelled to 'CLOSE' button. MS UX Guide p317 says "Close the window. Any changes or side effects are not discarded." The transform dialog should retain ALL user changes including control points, color space, curve setting, and histogram setting.

iii) The reset option should return 'color space' to the default HSV.
The color curve dlg has TWO option drop downs. They are not the same. The reset on the button row does reset color space to HSV. Cf: the option reset above the histogram controls on *both* dialogs does NOT do this.
iv) Put Color space control on Brightness curve at top of dialog, same as color curve dlg.

Thank you; all for today!
