Migrate setting to a new PC

Post by keithrj »

Having just replaced my PC and needed to migrate my settings to the new PC. I found that it can easily be done by exporting the Registry Key, shown below, to a .reg file, transfer this file to the new PC and run it (after installing PWP). You will then find all your setting as they were on the old PC.

The registry key is:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Digital Light and Color

One word of caution: All file paths etc. will be migrated too so you may have to go and update things like monitor profile, default camer profile and browse directories.

Another word of caution: This may cause problems when moving to a different Windows version.
