Clone Tool

Post by Marpel »

I'll start off by admitting I occasionally get a bit confused between Preview, Output, Input and Source images. I sometimes have to stop and think it through to bring it back into focus. So I may be confused on what certain buttons do in the Clone Tool.

Upon opening the dialogue, the opened image becomes the Input image.
The Source Image box is empty and needs identifying.
The Cursors box is changed from "Linked" to "One to One".
At this time the "Display Input and Preview side by side" (DIPSS) button is already depressed and the source image is shown on the left side, while the preview image is on the right. If this button is clicked on, it remains depressed and nothing occurs.
If either of the other "Display" buttons are pressed, the previously depressed button raises and a single image is shown.
If the DIPSS button is now pressed, the display shows two side by side images and the left image changes from the Source image to the Input image.

My question - Why is the DIPSS button depressed upon start up if it does not show the respective images?
