Keyword separator character?

Post by mjdl »

What is the character that separates multiple keywords in the image information dialog? A space, comma, or semi-colon? Are multiple words allowed in one "keyword"?

Picture Window treats the keyword field as a free text field, allowing use of punctuation as separators. However a brief search of the web showed that some other programs may require use of particular separators.

Would that mean that if keywords are entered in PWP using some separator (e.g. space), they may not be readable in some other applications? I guess what I'm trying to ask is if the separator character gets recorded in metadata, or, regardless of separator used by user interface of an application, the keywords are recorded in some standard way, using a standard separator character?

Cheers!

No. All characters are recorded as entered. Picture Window treats the field as a string and does no interpretation of any kind.
