ProPhoto Color Profile

Post by randys »

I recently had to reinstall Win10 & PW7. I am having trouble with color management. I have used ProPhoto as working space but it wasn't there to choose so I downloaded it from International Color consortium (as ROMM) and installed it. Now it shows up in the choices for Assumed File Profile but not for working color space. What gives?

The ROMM RGB profile shows up under the name "ISO 22028-2 ROMM RGB Profile" which is the internal name of the profile. It does not show up as a working color space because it is a tagged as a "colorspace" profile and only "display" profiles are currently allowed. Arguably this should be fixed, but I will have to do a little more research to see if there are undesirable side effects first.

The PWP equivalent of ProPhoto is called Universal RGB.

It turns out I was able to allow for color space profiles as working color spaces without apparently breaking anything, so this will appear in the next maintenance release.
