Export -- Default File Save Options

Post by den »

...
Ref: PWP 8.0.exe 22 Feb 2019 and Win10-64bit Home

Preferences by file type selected in File\Preferences - "Default File Options" are not the same as "Default File Save Options" for (1) File\Export or (2) Transformation\File\Export...

For example:
Unchecking "Include script" for all file types of the File\Preferences\"Default File Options" is not passed on to (1) File\Export or (2) Transformation\File\Export "Default File Save Options".

Other preference selections specific to file types are not 'sticky' as well.

I may have not been altogether clear in describing how this works.

The Default File Save options in Export list the same set of choices as for File/Preferences, but they are not the same settings. Each File/Export has its own default file types. Using the same options for FIle Save and File Export does not always make sense as you may want to export without metadata but save with metadata. The captions of the two dialog boxes should probably be different.

You are right... ...I was confused by the "Default File Save Options" header thinking that PWP8 "File\Save" and "File\Save as..." preferences would default to Export as well...

In any case with various *.export files previously saved, then loaded for "File\Export" or "Transformation\File\Export" will accomplished the needed saves for differing purposes.
