Clone Tool Source & Output images are not in sync

Clone Tool's Source and Output images are not synchronized when zoomed or Hand-grabbed... ...after application of a brush stroke... ...Source and Output images have 1:1 registration... ...brush mode is 1:1.

...clicking 1:1 will only zoom the Source image...
...multiple clicks of "+" will zoom the Output image without affecting the Source image...
...a Hand-grab on the Output image, moves only the Source image...
...also the Tool's main display mode button's do not seem to act as expected, switching from Source/Output/Side-by-Side displays... i.e., Display Input button = Display Preview button = Source image...

I am not seeing this here. Does clone behave the way you describe if applied to an image you just loaded? If not, can you identify the steps you took to get it into the state where the display buttons are not working?

...1) Open a sRGB, 24-bit, sRGB, jpeg image
...2) Use the Paint tool and paint a red circle
...3) Open the Clone tool and 1:1 clone out (remove) part of the circle where the Source image = 1 and the Output image = 3
...4) Leave the Clone tool active, and click on the 1:1, +, and – of the Preview/Output display frame as well as its horizontal/vertical scroll; and do a Hand grab… …in an attempt to zoom in/out, relocate to another image area to make further detailed/minute Clone tool brush changes… Note that Source and Preview/Output image displays are not in sync with the Preview button clicks, Preview scroll, or a Preview Hand grab.
...5) Also, with the Clone tool active, click on its Display Input, Display Preview, and Side-by-Side buttons of the tool dialog… Note: the Display Input = Display Preview will both = Source image and Side-by-Side will sometimes reset to the expected Input/Preview “size to fit” side by side image display.
...6) An OK will close the Clone tool.

...the OP illustration shows what happens to the Input/Source image display when the 1:1 button of the Preview/Output image display is clicked as described in ...4) above.

Sorry to interfere into this topic. I wonder whether the wrong display buttons sychronization may have something to do with it behind the scenes?

In den's printscreen I can see that behind the sceens the split screen display button and the synchronized scrolling button are both "on" even though the first one is visibly off.

load a 48-bit image
start Clone Tool -> the default button "on" is Display Preview
load a Source Image -> you get a split screen, but the split screen display button is not switched on
switch on both: split screen display button and the synchronized scrolling button -> right image 1:1 button zooms only the left image*
switch the synchronized scrolling button off -> you cannot zoom 1:1 either left or right

in general it seems that the right image buttons do not work correctly:
* with synchronized scrolling on you Zoom Out and 1:1 only the left image, but you Zoom In and To Fit only the right image
with synchronized scrolling off you still cannot Zoom In and To Fit the right image

Synchronized scrolling is always disabled when there are two different images in the halves of the split screen. There were several issues in the Clone tool that caused the display of the state of split screen and synchronized scrolling that I have fixed for the next release.
