Browesinfo file issue - agaian

Post by Dieter Mayr »

I have written about a problem with PW60.browsefile files already earlier this year.
http://www.dl-c.com/board/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=705
I thought it was a singular issue with a maybe corrupted file, but today I had the same problems, with all folders i have tried.
Opening a folder in browser updates the browser infromation, even when a PW60.browseinfo file already exists in that folder.

Browsefile.png (41.04 KiB) Viewed 6857 times
The bottom window shows the file before opening in PWP, the upper the file after opening the folder and re-. reading the info.
They are the same size exactly and the images were not modified in any way.
Jonathan, Kiril, would it be helpful if I send a before and after file per mail?

Did daylight savings time just start in Germany?

Yes Jonathan, it did start on Sunday, and it was the first time today I worked with PWP since then.

Jonathan, your question about daylight saving time made me rethink the first occurence of that issue.
I use synchronisation with a standard time saver via internet for my PC-clock.
Normally the the synchronisation is a fraction of a second in the morning when I boot it.
The first occurence was in january, after the christmas and new years holiday, and I had not booted my main PC since over 2 weeks because I was not home.
And the CMOS battery was weak already, I repaced it in february because the clock was off more then 1 hour over night and my synchronisation program gives a warning in that case.
So I guess my PC-clock was off several minutes after the christmas holiday.
Could this be related with the problem with pwbrowseinfo-files ?

It would have to be a time zone change to cause problems - Browse does not use the current time.

It could happen if you browse a folder that was in a different daylight savings time than currently in effect. So if you have not browsed a folder for some time, this problem could occur months later than the browse file was created.
