"Error writing file" message

Post by Marpel »

Not sure if this is PWP 7 Beta specific or if it is related to upgrading my computer as I downloaded the beta just after upgrading to Win 7 and I also do not have a prior PWP version to try the same operation on.

However, I am repeatedly getting an "Error writing file (disk full or read only file)" message when I try to do a "save as" to a Cruzer Micro Drive. The file had just been converted from 48 bit to 24 bit. The Micro Drive had more than enough disk space (1.6gb of 2gb). The image is 127mb (10,500 X 4032 pixels). I was able to do the same operation with success in another program. Is there a file size limit in PWP for this type of stuff?

I tried a forum search for this topic, with no luck.

What format were you trying to save in?

I was trying to save the image as a 24 bit uncompressed TIFF.

There should not be a file size limit on saving uncompressed TIFF.

I sort of figured as such as I can "save as" the same file to a folder on the computer hard drive but seem to be encountering the problem when saving to any of the three Micro Drives I have. Weird.
