Re: Color Balance
Thanks, Kiril ... If you thought my earlier message meant that I was having a problem getting WB in PWP's raw converter to match the jpeg-like output I achieve with Nikon's converter, that's not what I was mainly referring to. Rather, it is the highlight, shadow and midtone adjustments that I need t...

Re: Color Balance
Marv ... If I have interpreted Jonathan correctly, it sounds like there is no significant detriment to the effectiveness of color balance adjustments under the process that you and I are pursuing. Namely, convert the Nikon nef raw file in Nikon's own NX-D converter which applies the camera's jpeg pi...

Re: Color Balance
OMG, Marpel. Thank you for posting this. The Color Balance transformation is more mysterious to me than almost any other transformation that I use frequently. (Certain others are mysterious too. But I don't use them so frequently). I am particularly interested in the last question you posed. I bugge...

Re: New Picture Window Release
Fair enough, David. My post was not intended to even hint that the "fixes" you mentioned are not important. Indeed, they should not be overlooked or forgotten about. Instead, assuming that everything that is on the "to-do list" cannot be accomplished overnight, I wanted to especi...

K Sinkel wrote: As you point out the other fixes are not included -- they are still pending. This release was 'squeezed in' between other work primarily to not delay release of raw support for new camera models. Kiril And I want to thank you for that "squeeze in" (see my June 5 post) I sus...

Guess I didn't understand the problem David was complaining about. Shame on me.

Re: Resize
OK, David, let's see if you can follow this -- using your panel #2 for the mathematics. You have told the transformation that you want the resulting printed output to have a width of 67.50 centimeters. My conversion table says that there are 0.3937 inches per centimeter. So that means that you have ...

New PWP Release Schedule?
I'll be shooting a lot over the next three weeks, but won't be home to do any processing/editing 'till nearly July. Is there any expectation that by then there might be a new PWP release that would include raw conversion for the new Nikon D5 and D500?

Re: DoF calculator ideas
John ... I am thinking of buying a new lens with a slightly shorter zoom range than the lens being replaced. That will leave a small gap in the total focal length range of all my various lenses. I wondered how to determine how much closer I would need to be to the subject with a XXmm lens to achieve...
