Re: Generating a Colour Image
Jonathan, would it be theoretically possible to create the colour Marv is looking for by combining the Luminance channel of the grey patch with the a*b channels from the colour patch ? (L*a*b combining is not possible now in PWP, thats why theoretically). Im not 100% sure if the Extract Channel - Lu...

Re: Paint Tool
... and don't forget you can use Ctrl+T to bring the paint (or any other) transformation window to the top of the pile. It would probably be nice if Ctrl+T (or a other shortcut) could open the color picker from within the transformation window (or bring both windows). When both windows are hidden u...

Re: Magic Lantern (for Canon) Dual ISO feature
mjdl, yes, i can confirm that. The S3 was my first DLSR. It was damn slow when saving RAFs to the CF card (was a bit faster saving to the xD card, but i never liked those small thingies) It was not possile to utilize the double pixels with PWP as RAW-converter, it was just possible with Fuijis own s...

Re: Magic Lantern (for Canon) Dual ISO feature
A smiliar approach was Fuji's SuperCCD SR sensor introduced in 2003. It had 2 photodiodes for each pixel, one high sensitive and one low sensitive. http://www.dpreview.com/articles/6851251325/fujisuperccdsr All the computation to combine the 2 images was done inside the camera. Would be interesting ...

Re: White Balance & Color Correction
Doug,
For me, it worked well with measuring the grey part of the card, so it should be ok.

Re: Gradient Tool
Marv,
If your histogram is ok it means that your data is ok, so the bands are caused by the (monitor) output chain somehow.
If it is possible a printout of a small strip of the image would make clear how the print looks like.

Re: White Balance & Color Correction
Doug, I took your Jpeg picture and even though it looks kind of redish, it has actually a blue tint. I have developed your NEF with 6000K and measured the grey background with the readout tool. Neat the Top right corner I measure quiet exact neutral grey, 30% in each channel, a variation of about +/...

Re: Grid in Workflow Preview
Kiril,
Grid is greyed out in Workflow (at least i did not find a Widget where it is active).
I think it would be a useful addition to be able to use grid in workflows, too

Re: White Balance & Color Correction
Doug, I have played around a little with your pictures. DSC_0005.NEF: When probing the white field of the card gives a very warm (red) result - about 6300K color temp. Probing the grey part of the card or the grey background results in 6000K color temp, and a good result for my taste. Probing the wh...

Re: Gradient Tool
Marv, Did you have a look at the histogram of your gradient ? A gradient over the whole width or hight on the image should give a perfect rectangle, for lengths that are not divisible by 256 for 8 bit color there are some periodic spikes, because not all colors can have the same count of pixels. But...
