Re: PWP 8 Early Alpha Release Available for Download

Hi Jonathan, How exciting. I tried installing on a Win7 64-bit machine. Err message at end of installation (the "finish/launch" button was the last I pressed) was "The program can't start because MSVCP140.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this prob...

Re: How to crop

This sounds like a perfect problem to "solve" using a workflow. A crop widget, followed by a sizing widget (to get exact 15x10 ppi), then a mask in a lightness transform that darkens the border to emphasize just the viewable part of the final image.

Re: Some preliminary information on PWP 8.0

Jonathan,

Looks great, I like the organization -- seems more flexible, but still familiar.

Will there be a capability to have transformations that accept two inputs (like composite, or sharpen using a mask generated by another branch, for example)?

Good answer. I'll not send you any down payments yet, it would take all your fun away.

Jonathan,

Glad things are going so well. I am waiting patiently. Is "retirement" not in your vocabulary?

Re: Who is still out there?

Doug,

I monitor the forums fairly regularly. I will continue using PWP as long as there's no better choice.

Re: All Good Things Come to an End

I guess I was a latecomer to PWP, buying my first copy at V 3.5 over 10 years ago, and enjoying it every time. As a developer myself, I really appreciate software that does what it says it does with a minimum of bloat, and PWP fit my needs perfectly. I now have licenses for 3 or 4 copies. My deepest...

Re: Local Contrast Enhancement

Jonathan,

Did the larger radius option in the Bilateral Sharpen transform ever get into a newer PWP release?

Thanks,
Bob

Re: Inverting Existing Mask

Alan, Not hard at all. I am assuming you already have the image and the original mask as two separate windows. A two-step process: Load the image you want to work with, and bring up the mask tool. (1) In the Mask dialog, click on the "Combine Masks" icon, on the bottom row of little boxes,...

Re: Using PWP to enhance scans from negs

To select all the images in the workflow box, click on the second mini-icon at the top of the workflow window. The first is the refresh icon (circular arrows), the one to the right of that, looks like a pencil with bubbles around it. That's the way I do it all the time -- select all images, right-cl...
