In the Help text, the subhead "Blue Radius" is a typo.

Re: Sharpening
Maybe the user is not given "the single best method," but I agree that a user should be able to employ one best procedure, the best he knows (which may evolve!). When I begin a raw file in Raw Therapee, I use its RL Deconvolution. The radius is important: 0.8 - 1.0 for Bayer CFA, .04 - 0.5...

Re: Update Available - Version 8.0.32
Someone posted this remark today on another website, maybe relevant: All the photos I took using a rented Pentax 645Z are upside down. I shot them in backup mode, so both cards are recording raw (PEF). All the photos are upside down, both my faststone image viewer and LR are showing them upside down...

Re: batch processing image pairs
I need to see the images and zoom on them to decide which to throw out. FastStone does previewing competently but doesn't want to keep JPGs and RAWs associated so that I could get rid of both versions in one go. You can change the order in which FastStone goes through images. It can be by filetype,...

Re: need advice on how best to open and process nikon raw (NEF) images
Try Silkypix. I gave it a file from a Nikon Z7; it opened an image that looked close to the camera JPG. But if I have a difficult file that needs careful noise reduction, or if I want a fairly flat file that leaves room for maneuver in PWP, use Raw Therapee, which is donation-only. In both cases, yo...

Re: RAW woes
In my experience, none of the manufacturer-supplied programs are any good. Fuji does not make its own vendor-supplied raw processor; it licenses a version of Silkypix. Recently it added a similar joint deal with Capture One. Fuji also has the idiosyncratic Fuji X Raw Studio. It requires a live USB ...

Re: RAW woes - two alternatives
1. Most camera vendors offer a free developer program that yields a close match to the camera JPG. Have you tried the current Olympus offering, Olympus Workspace? https://app.olympus-imaging.com/olympusworkspace/en/ 2. An alternative is Silkypix. In agreement with Jonathan, it does not encumber you ...

Scripts as subroutines -- Another instance of its use: I sometimes like to see how an image looks if I apply a chiaroscuro effect. I have the effect saved as a script without image name. Currently, I save the image, then open the script and start from the saved file. But if I like it, what is a conv...

Re: Capture One Express for Fuji and Sony (free)
Capture One does some idiosyncratic things to colors when it opens a raw file. See http://www.lumariver.com/lrpd-manual/#c1_curves Indeed, it begins quite differently than both Raw Therapee and the free version of Silkypix for Fuji cameras. I tried to work with it for a few dozen files; at first it ...
