Re: Gradient Tool
Marv, Didn't think of it, of course you can't use 16 bit images as a mask. Sorry. But as you mentioned that you created a gradient in PS directly with the colors, you can do that in PWP too. In the Gradient window, you have that Black to White line with 1 and 2 at the beginning resp. the end. Click ...

Re: White Balance & Color Correction
Doug, I do not have expieriencew with the Whibal you mentioned, I took a look on the net and it looked quiet bright compared to a 18% standard grey card I use. The documentation i found in their website didn't tell either. A 50% grey in PWP comes very close to the tone of my grey card. And on a &quo...

Re: White Balance & Color Correction
Doug, Can it be that light reflected from a coloured surface has fallen on your grey card ? The eyes are quiet well "shielded" in their sockets, a grey card held in the wrong angle can easily get some "coloured" light. Outside it can easily happen to hold the grey card so it gets...

Re: Gradient Tool
Marv, Did you try 16 bit for the gradient and solid colour image ? It should be much better using 16 bit. It could also be that the banding is just virtual, meaning that your monitor simply can not display the gradient correctly. I had a laptop a while ago that produced sigificant banding in the blu...

Re: Cropping an Image
Thanks a lot, Kiril!
I see a lot of good uses for it.

Re: Cropping an Image
Maciej, I have asked for somethimng similar a little while ago (automatic detection of landscape/portrait orientation). http://www.dl-c.com/board/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=1127 Don't have to do a automatic rotation, it would help already if one could automatically mark all images in one orientation by...

Re: Colour Picker and Working Colour Space
Marv, As I thought, that discontuinity you see in the color picker depends on the monitor profile. Last week I did my checks on my main monitor, and now I thought i could test with just my laptop display, and I get some discontuinity in the magenta range that I dont see on my main monitor. So it hig...

Re: Colour Picker and Working Colour Space
Marv, Do you see that "jump" just visually or does it occur in the (RGB) values in the color picker too ? I use Chrome2000 D65 since my very first touch with PWP, 3.1 was the version back then if I remember correctly. In the "Color Management" white paper it was, and is still, de...

Re: Colour Picker and Working Colour Space
Marv, Sorry, i have missread or missunderstood. I can reproduce that pinkish colour when using the eydropper, regardless if the picture of the sample is in 24 or 48 bit. In both AdobeRGB and Chrome2000 D65 (my preferred workspace) it works fine. Maybe Kiril or Jonathan can have a look at it from an ...
