Text Transformation -- Drop Shadow color control

Sorry, I cannot figure out how to change the color of a dropshadow on the text transform dialog. My little dropshadow window only shows angle, offset, transparency and softness. Thew dropshadow given is always black/gray (depending on value of transparency).

Thanks,
Bob W

Re: Saving jpeg images with metadata intact

Jonathan,

Sorry, I disappeared while on vacation. My vote would be to use ExifTool.

Thanks,

Re: Saving jpeg images with metadata intact

den, Thanks. I realize that exiftool is the software that is under the hood for many of the metadata editors around, so I probably need to learn the syntax, I have just been lazy. exiftool for photos reminds me of ffmpeg for videos -- it's to go-to software for its purpose, just a steep learning cur...

Re: Saving jpeg images with metadata intact

Jonathan, The XPKeywords (a Microsoft invention) are replicated in the IPTC data "Keyword". No IPTC data is replicated from PWP8 using either a "Save as" or "Export" file-writing dialog. Without IPTC being copied, and no Microsoft XPKeywords, all keywords are lost. Off ...

Re: Saving jpeg images with metadata intact

Jonathan, OK, I am getting pretty discouraged. Yes, I picked a few elements of metadata that are handled by Windows so the issue could be easily replicated. The "Tags" that show in a windows explorer window are stored in the IFD0 block of the EXIF metadata under the name "XPKeywords&q...

Re: Saving jpeg images with metadata intact

It looks like the screenshot image got downsampled to where it is unreadable. Here are two images, just of the properties dialogs.

Re: Saving jpeg images with metadata intact

Jonathan, Here is a screenshot. File RBW (1824).JPG is an original jpeg output form Canon's DPP software. I opened it in PWP 8 by dragging it to the workspace. I then saved it using the "Save as" widget, generating the RBW (1824) v1.jpg file. I then right click on each file in a Windows ex...

Re: Saving jpeg images with metadata intact

Jonathan, Yes, opening and re-saving a file also drops the metadata I am looking at. By "Tags" I mean what the Windows Explorer window shows under that field. They are stored both as a part of EXIF (as "XP Keywords" using exiftool to view), and as a part of IPTC as "Keywords...

Re: Saving jpeg images with metadata intact

Jonathan, Thanks for the response. I created a small image, added various metadata to it with a metadata editor (Daminion 5.8), then went into PWP8 Alpha 20-Jan-2019, opened the file and performed a single sharpening transformation "Sharpen/Sharpen More", then saved the result. The sharpen...

Saving jpeg images with metadata intact

I am trying out some of the new features of PWP 8.0. I would like to take a jpeg image, with laboriously incorporated metadata, crop and downsize and sharpen for web display, yet keep all the jpeg's original metadata, including GPS, IPTC, and EXIF information. Is this possible? What is the best way ...
