Re: Workflow - reverting after 1:1

Mike, Are you looking for something different than the "Zoom Out to Fit Screen" button (just to the right of the minus ("-") button? When I'm in 1:1 mode and want to get back to the whole image, that's what I use. I don't think there is anything that remembers what zoom factor yo...

Re: Stale preview window during resize processing

Maciej,

I do not see an empty preview window -- does it depend on what operation you select for resizing? I use "Bounding Rectangle" most often.

Workflows: What's Next?

Kiril and Jonathan have, as promised, made some really nice enhancements to PWP 5.0's ability to process images in batch mode using workflows. For example, I am very happy with the ability to save workflows from hand-processed image streams, and there are some very nice new widgets that we can use i...

Re: Can become/are WorkFlowFiles like plug-ins or macros

Rather than hijack this thread, I will start a new one with observations about the current workflow capability of PWP. I wrote a little white paper (pdf) describing in detail what I'd like to be able to do. See the new thread. The principal enhancements that would add the most to workflows is the ab...

Re: Can become/are WorkFlowFiles like plug-ins or macros

It is my hope that at some point in the future, workflow processing will become more and more like a plug-in or a macro. It could become a true widget-based image processing programming language, with a few significant enhancements. To a limited extent, it already is, but I am often frustrated tryin...

Re: Adventures in Wide Space

Jim,

I have never run such an experiment, but your logic sounds exactly right to me, for what it's worth.

Re: Noise reduction in RAW

Bogumil,

I do not have any particular insights into the best way to handle noise levels, but since PWP uses the DCRAW RAW processsing engine (I think), you might get some ideas looking at Dave Coffin's website -- http://www.cybercom.net/~dcoffin/dcraw/

Re: Transformation Brightness Curve

Bernd, I can confirm what you see. Some other observations: (1) 48-bit TIF not required -- 24bit Jpeg shows same issue. (6) Red channel not required, histogram shown is also wrong for extracted green channel (and probably blue channel). The wrong histograms just show a spike or two at the 50% bright...
