Re: "ghost" window left behind with Layout
Sometimes the display drivers can do funny things. There are options for hardware acceleration in the Windows Display Properties | Settings Tab | Troubleshooting configuration which can often help remove these things. Usually setting a lower level of hardware acceleration helps.

Re: Windows 7
Davidh,
well there will always be something that won't work. My Canon scanner was similar as I think the driver was somehow built into the scanning software.
Have you contacted the developers of the software to see if they have an update for Windows 7 64bit?

Re: Windows 7
DavidH, I have not found any 32-bit software that does NOT run on 64-bit Windows 7. The only problem I have had is old drivers that don't work. I am willing to bet your Silverfast will work on 64-bit as long as your driver for the scanner works.

Re: Windows 7
I am running Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit without any problems. I would suggest going to 64bit as there will be a 64bit version of PWP which will allow you to take advantage of more memory for larger images.

Tom,
I have a WhiBal from http://www.rawworkflow.com/ which comes in a number of sizes and formats. The one I have has three cards (white grey and black) and works really well and is very durable. You do have to be careful to use it appropriately as Jonathan mentioned.

Re: New Picture Window Pro Update
I like this new transformation but I have a suggestion to improve it. While making changes I notice that no colour channel will be used more than once. This means you cannot assign the same channel data to two different channels. Can I suggest you have a check box to allow you do do this? Something ...

Re: Computer Compatability?
I would add more RAM. Remember that 32-bit Windows XP can't use more than 4GB RAM and that some of that is mapped to graphics RAM which means you will only be able to use about a maximum of 3.25 Gb.

Re: DPI Q's
I have read many times that you should try and print at the native resolution of the printer. Additionally, if you can't or don't want to print at the native resolution then print at some multiple or simple fraction of that resolution. Many Epson inkjet printers have a native resolution of 360dpi. T...

Re: Slow Advanced Sharpen
I have the same setup (quad core, Win7 64-bit) and just checked the AS transform. The only hiccup I noticed is when I change to the Speck Removal tab it had a very brief pause about halfway before continuing but the progress bar never reached the end! Other than that AS performed very well.
