Re: ProPhoto space
There's also the web site http://www.iccview.de which uses the ArgyllCMS toolkit (see http://www.argyllcms.com ) to generate 3D gamut comparision VRML models in your browser between your own uploads of icm files and/or provided standard gamut (sRGB, etc.), printers, and other icm files. A VRML brows...

Re: How to make small percent adjustments?
Also, remember that the dialogs are often horizontally resizeable, so the adjustment scale can be enlarged.

Re: jsachs' remarks about camera color space characterization: is it possible to use the color response matrices for individual camera models published by www.dxomark.com to derive the camera primaries? Just a wild stab in the dark--I *really* don't know what I'm talking about here!

Re: RAW Dialog: Hilite Recovery problem
Just some rapid reaction: these highlight recovery casts have been discussed before: e.g. in http://www.dl-c.com/board/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=114&start=0&st=0&sk=t&sd=a where the ever resourceful Den recommends a couple of approaches to fix it after the RAW has been processed. I rec...

Re: EXIF stripping in workflow
People not adverse to the minimalist DOS command-line in Windows may wish to try PureJPEG, which, according to its web page http://www.yafla.com/papers/purejpeg/filter_unnecessary_jpeg_info_such_as_exif.htm PureJPEG is an easy to use, high performance utility to remove unnecessary data from images y...

Re: Bug in Color Management Profile Load/Save?
Thanks for such a quick reply; I won't reinstall, then, since everything else (well, the limited parts I use) in PWP seems to work. The problem, anyway, is a minor "fit-and-finish" one, just requiring moving windows as a work-around.

Re: Bug in Color Management Profile Load/Save?
No, this is a fresh installation of 5.0.1.5 that was upgraded earlier this week to 5.0.1.6--I simply ran the the setup executable of 5.0.1.6 and it updated the current installation--that's how the Windows MSI is supposed to work, detecting which files need updating and which not. But maybe that's no...

Bug in Color Management Profile Load/Save?
Hello, Just noticed something: when color management settings are saved with conversion option "Ask Only On Mismatch" and then explicitly reloaded into the color management dialog (either immediately on on some later occasion), then the conversion option "Don't convert" is always...

Re: Noise reduction in RAW
Guillermo Luijk's DCRAW Tutorial is a good reference, though I'm not sure how many (and how) command line options correspond to the knobs available in PWP's Raw dialogs. Other software (everybody and their dog are producing raw converters these days) often uses the DCRAW library as a reliable, fully...

Re: Illumination, Colour Temp and Monitor Curves
I haven't studied concepts of "appearance models" in color science, but apparently those are the basis for automating color adjustments to account for different illumination levels and surroundings. More to read at http://www.handprint.com/LS/CVS/color.html LittleCMS, the color management ...
