Re: Show clipped pixels in RAW dialog
Just to supprot this point: the new Monochrome channel mixer has 'clipping' warning that pretty much works this way - no need to to go 'over board...' or do some other fancies. Flipping W<-->B pixels works ok, but it's sometimes hard to see: would it be useful to have them more pronounced/coloured -...

3/2 Tones and Contrast and Brightness
If I get it anywhere close to right, in 3-tone Transformation the Contrast and Brightness sliders apply 3 separate curves for each tone mask and then blend results (more or less). Now, if for instance my low and high tone ranges are prettey narrow (e.g. 0-20% and 80-100%), the contrast and brightnes...

Re: Vibrancy
Though I'm not sure what 'vibrancy' actually does, it seems that in PS RAW it desn't do much more than PWP's Satruration with 'preserve low' or 'preserve low an high'. I don't think there is a special thershold for skin tones in any implementation I've seen - unless masks are used. I thinks is a gim...

Re: Additional Software in addition to PWP
I thought more about blending incongruent images than real panorama stitching. Just the idea of the blend being 'smooth' or 'agreeable' more than straight pixel blending - i.e. blending the low frequency over longer distances than high frequency components.

Re: Additional Software in addition to PWP
Not expecting PWP to become a panorama software, I found that soemething akin multi-resolution splines as edge-blending technique would have been useful when two images had to be blended. The Composite now makes it easier to blend low pass/high pass parts of an image. Did anyone tried that in blendi...

Re: Monitor Curves and Colour Profiles
Thanks Jonathan, Though the monitor curves doesn't affect the image data before printing, there is another way of using them when sending a file to the printer: using Inverse Monitor Curves in Color Curves Transformation/Options (for which I'm grateful). And this is what I do: use Monitor Curves to ...

Re: Show clipped pixels in RAW dialog
Just a thought on showing clipped pixels. I find mapping pixels clipped in HSV/HSL extremely helpful in almost any transformation, especially as I adjust the settings. Though it can already be done in RAW, Levels&colour, using colour ranges in masks, or in high contast - but it's not that overly...

Monitor Curves and Colour Profiles
I've been having a long string of printing mishaps lately - some coused by the printer, some by me, and some by general evil. I thought I could wing it knowing a few things about colour profiles, but I couldn't. So I turned to the Monitor Curves, that seem to work much better than I expected (and se...

Saving masks with workflows
I find that saving history workflows is super-useful (if I don't forget doing it), since the image can be 're-developed' at will, and it makes the processing undestructive, adding just a small workflow recipe. There is an issue that I have with masks though (it has been mentioned in passing elsewher...

Re: Stale preview window during resize processing
Bob,
It doesn't depend on the mode. There is no preview window when you adjust the controls in Resize dialog, but when you hit OK and the resize is substantial (i.e. takes time to process), an empty Preview window appears during the processing, and then closes.
