Re: Software help needed!
Hello Bruce PS is designed to be for the graphics and printing business, you can create CMYK separations, lost of (also custom) special effects, almost everything you could ever desire to do with a graphic or image, and it does a damn good job in this, it isn't for nothing THE big player in this bus...

Re: What exactly are halos?
Halos likely appear when exeeding with sharpening. Left is the original image, right is with 2 times unsharp mask, amount 100 % and radius 10: Halo-Demo.JPG I made it extreme in this example of course, to show the effect, depending on the background, i.e. a clear blue sky, a much smaller effect is v...

Re: How far in Raw post processing do you go?
I work mostly like Keith described above. Adjusting in RAW for a acceptable looking inage and do the fine tweaking in post processing. Sharpening always as the last step on the final image, depending on the usage (printing or for monitor display). I normally keep the RAW and the processes 48 bit TIF...

Re: Cannot close a window
I would prefer a option to disable the history function too. Allowing to save the mask and just refer to its filename instead could eb a option to save memory space and making the wfl files smaller, but with the risk if someone edits the mask the whole workflow will be unuseable. I personally would ...

Re: jpeg default quality for saving
I am not sure if i would like the idea of having a additional window to click away when saving. I usually hava a look at the result window to see that the file size is in the range i expected. Maybe it would be a solution to use shift click with Save and Save As as it used for Transformations to res...

Re: 5.0.1.4 Text Transform - ellipsis
I can reproduce the fact that in PWP5 a row of points (.) is ignored.
A even number of dots (2, 4 ... ) produces no dot at all and a odd number (1,3 ,5 .. ) produces one dot.
This happens not only at the end but also in the middle of words.

Re: Organizing processed pictures
Thank you, Frank, your link sounds interesting.
I will give this method it a try.
Like you, i also like the idea of not depending to a catalogue software.
As an amateur, i do not have several 100 000s of pictures to manage with the aid of a professional software.
Thanks again

Organizing processed pictures
Hello I have found the best way for my needs to store my original pictures, but i still search for the best way to organize the processed images, mostly with respect to the proportions. My camera files have either 3:4 from my "little" bridge or 2:3 from my DSLR. My most used print out form...

Kiril
I have downloaded this sample RAWs for the Nikon D700 on my disk and they reproduceable bring PWP 5.0.1.3. to crash when reading them for the browseinfo-file.
With the existing browseinfo-file it works fine.
