jpg vs png
Hello, I know it is preferable to edit .tiff formatted image files; however, sometimes it becomes necessary to work with already compressed images. In the PWP universe, is there any advantage of one compressed format over another, e.g., .jpg vs .png? I tried to search on this set of terms, but the s...

Re: New mask and Flood Fill
Hi Jonathan,
That's a wonderfully quick response. Indeed, the image is large, and the masking is complex -- filling in around conifers in the background to apply your nifty haze transformation. Thanks.

Re: Update Available - Version 8.0.127
Hello, I've just installed 8.0.127 and am having issues using the mask transform. As noted under another post https://www.dl-c.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=2639 , PWP8 crashes my PC when using this transform. It would be useful to be able to go back to a previous version and reload it. The nex...

Re: New mask and Flood Fill
Perhaps I spoke too soon. I am using this function and find it useful, both with the click function and with the shift-click function. My issue is, the operation causes PWP8 to freeze and crash; in fact the crash is so hard I have to reboot my PC to recover. Granted, I am working on a large file (30...

Undo (Ctrl-z) Function
So, I am working my way through learning to effectively use the Line, Arrow, and Text tool, after downloading and installing the most recent release (8.0.127). My question: why doesn't the Undo function work and undo the last action I took? I tap Ctrl-z while in the tool and exactly nothing happens....

Split Screen Vertical Support
Hello Jonathan, I am back at work on a new project, after being away from photography and PWP8 for a while. The capabilities in PWP8 boggle the mind, thanks for the continuous development this app has seen since I first started using it, many, many years ago. Now, I am working on pano images and wou...

I really like this idea; would love to be able to point folks in my photo club to such a gallery as a way to raise interest in this wonderful app. Much appreciation to Jonathan, Kiril, and all who support it.

Re: TIFF Image - Transparent Background
Noted; the background in my image, which should be white, is a light gray in the edited .tiff file; I seem to recall there is a transformation to remove color casts, in this case, a light gray. I will explore and see what I can do. Thanks for the information.

Re: TIFF Image - Transparent Background
So, my point in asking this question is really related to printing a specific image. The image is of a colored flower on a white background, my printing preference would be to have the printer lay down ink only for the non-white elements of the image (which is a high-resolution .tiff file). My prefe...
