The 24 bit tiff is the gray wedge. It was created as a color image (with all channels equal for each wedge step) so that the color management system would be engaged in its display.

Re: Browse crashes with 5.0.1.3
I have traced the browse problem to the raw converter which is also used to extract thumbnails from raw images. I have temporarily reinstated 5.0.1.2 on the download page and will replace it with the new release as soon as the problem is fixed.

Re: Vista 64 bit and PWP5
In addition to multi-tasking in Sharpen, Picture Window also makes use of additional cores in browse, history and workflow, all of which use background processes.

Re: Saving masks with workflows
To remove a mask from a workflow, reopen the transformation using the mask and remove the mask. Then click OK to re-execute the workflow. Then save the workflow again.
There will be additional options for creating masks and saving them as we continue to evolve workflows.

Re: Stale preview window during resize processing
In 5.0 Resize has been changed from 4.0. It now uses common transformation code, to allow it to be stored in History and be made part of workflow files. This code creates the final window from the preview window, which is why you are seeing the preview window.
