Re: Blur and Masking
Now I am a committed m4/3 user I had started to forget about the speckled, sparkly, bokeh I used to enjoy. These two shots were taken with a telephoto zoom but the effect rarely appears with normal lenses (and never with wide angle) http://www.tonygamble.org/Seniors%202012%20General/_1300218_xxx.jpg...

Den,
"The resulting(1) image noise reduced using PWP's BilateralSharpen with Amout 65; BR 5; BT 10; SF 20; ST 0"
My SF only goes up to 5.

Re: 'SNS-HDR Lite' and PWP
I've just tried this utility with some handheld bracket shots from my GH2. I am amazed at how sharp they are. Is the software applying sharpening? OH, and by the way if Den is around. I sent you a PM this morning asking if you'd manage to get the GUI to work on the Lite version. From what I have see...

Re: 'SNS-HDR Lite' and PWP
Den,
Are the HDR Lite shots you are showing taken from a series of RAWs or one RAW processed with different exposures?

RAW + JPG = Less Noise ?
I am sure this http://theonlinephotographer.typepad.co ... n-ep1.html is easy to do in PWP.
Has anyone tried it?
Presumably it could also be built into a workflow?

Re: Restoring Clipped Channels
Thanks Den,
I now understand where you were respectively going.
Yes those recovered highlights that become pale magenta are a real bore. Now I see what you do with them.

Re: Restoring Clipped Channels
I did some shots last night that I know from the camera will be clipped.
You say use the Paint Tool.
What colour do I choose to paint?
Thanks - in anticipation.

Re: RAW Converters?
I must have been using Bibble for four or five years now. I don't have any problems with it. Looking at DPReview just now I was staggered to see that Bibble logs in with 1.6% of the user survey and Lightroom is showing 33.1% Is there anyone around here who has tried both and can tell me what I might...

Re: Adding noise anyone?
I never look at the retouching area in DPR. Those guys love having a play, don't they? In my view there are two issues here. One is what I had in mind when I started this thread. Namely is there something one can add to a digital print to make it look more like one made from a film negative. I might...
