Re: Some preliminary information on PWP 8.0
This is really cool to get a peek behind a software development process. Sort of like seeing the outtakes from a TV sitcom and being able to see what goes on behind the scenes during the development of a finished product.

Who is still out there?
It has been nearly 6 weeks since the last active posing on this forum. But I notice that the views of that last posting by people who visit but don’t weigh in keep going up (now up to 170). Despite the recent change in PWP’s status, it remains my go-to editor and I don’t anticipate that changing any...

Re: Reducing haze or mist using PWP
Finally! A new post that relates to using PWP to solve particular image adjustment issues and not its new status as freeware. I am retired (10 years now), but not yet dead. Similarly PWP may be entering a well deserved retirement phase. But it too is far from dead. After getting used to and apprecia...

Re: JPEG File Conversion Size
When testing whether the "lossy" nature of multiple saves of a jpeg (without any intervening transformation activity) actually had a detrimental effect, a technique I used was to use the "absolute difference" setting in PWP's Composite transformation to compare an original image ...

Re: Social media group
I am also quite pleased to learn this (guess I didn't pick up on that nuance in the original announcement.) It directly addresses a comment I made in a posting in the "All Good Things Come to an End" thread that said, "I'll be very happy to keep using PWP for a long time (perhaps not ...

Re: All Good Things Come to an End
I think that having 15 posts to this thread in 36 hours is very interesting. Sometimes we go for weeks without a single posting. But I check in almost daily to see if anything is "new". These responses make it appear that we have a deeper and much more engaged forum membership (who may vis...

Re: All Good Things Come to an End
I started using PWP in 2004 when I got my first digital camera and have been a loyal user ever since. I've got an additional 4 years on you guys turning 70 and, like Bob Walker, I assumed I would die before PWP did. I've still got the hard copy disks from the earlier versions. But later versions wer...

Re: Color Balance
Thanks, Dieter ... I agree with you that my understanding is that the camera WB settings do not affect the data that is included in the raw file. But my concern is this. It is my understanding that the initial conversion (before any personalized edits) of that raw file by Capture NX-D applies the ca...
