JPEG and PNG questions
Maybe I've missed this in the documentation, but can I assume that if I open a JPEG already edited in PWP and change only the EXIF Comment or IPTC data, then the actual compressed JPEG image data will be essentially the same as the original JPEG when I save the file with the identical JPEG compressi...

Re: Panasonic DMC-G7 Raw color issues?
I guess I could probably use that to create a color profile myself. I don't know much of anything about this, but I'd hazard a guess that trying to create an ICC type profile to correct the incorrect colour output of a raw processor might not be very optimal or effective--wouldn't the "transla...

Re: Panasonic DMC-G7 Raw color issues?
I just got a Panasonic DMC-G7 and am trying to process the RW2 raw files. The color balances seems way off - too flat and skewed. I can tweak up the saturation but the color balance using the "Camera WB" setting is still way off and very different than the JPG (shooting in JPG+RAW mode). ...

Re: Magic Lantern (for Canon) Dual ISO feature
Re. the Fuji sensor, for which a quick intenet search turned up an interesting discussion of how this increase in sensor dynamic range actually performs in the Fuji S2 Pro DSLR (2006) (at the section "Exposure and Dynamic Range" far down the page). Quick superficial summary: it works for o...

Re: Resize and Copy
Thanks for considering it--I know it's a rather minor feature to spend time on.

Re: Resize and Copy
The next release will place images on the clipboard in both BMP format (no profile, 8-bit only) and BMP V5 format (includes profile and allows 16-bit, but no EXIF). This will let programs that can handle BMP V5 (including PWP) copy and paste with fewer restrictions. Programs that cannot handle BMP ...

Re: Resize and Copy
Sorry for re-opening an old topic... I hadn't really noticed this very handy shortcut for quickly saving a current in-process image, but some remarks anyway: 1) color space conversion is important, and sRGB is the simple choice (not just email, but e.g. for rapid sRGB preview purposes), any other ta...

Re: Suspected CMYK file would not open in PWP7
I was trying to be helpful to point to some ready-made color management aware format conversion utilities that might prepare CMYK files to be opened in PWP--in any case, as Dieter mentions above, with CMYK colors are process dependent and I don't know anything about how to deal with that...

Re: Suspected CMYK file would not open in PWP7
For what a quick Internet search is worth, LittleCMS (which is the color management library used in PWP) has some extra utilities at http://www.littlecms.com/1/newutils.htm which do various conversions such as RGB<-->CMYK for TIFF and JPEG files. Maybe worth a try--there are win32 binaries listed fo...

Re: PWP and color profiles
Embedded information should have priority over exif information, but the problem here may be PWP Not recognizing the exif information.
