Turning off the colour management for thumbnail can significantly speed up execution of complex workflows, as advised in this thread:

Thanks for the tip, but I just can't seem to get it to work or to understand how to work with image windows in version 8, since it is so different from previous versions. It all makes sense, but it confused me at first as I haven't used Compare for a while. There are 2 labels for Image B: one showing the name, the other used as a label the for the thumbnail to select the image B. I was thinking that having just one label for both could be more intuitive?

I was trying to compare the histograms of the input and output of an open transformation. Could the Multi Colour Balance make any difference?

What's the RGB reading of the pinkish background? I imagine you're using colour mgmt - what's the working space? Do larger colour probe or higher white thresholds improve things?
