Re: Updating Browse Info in bulk, across folders

Dieter, many thanks! My computer has 8Gb of RAM. It's Windows 7, 64bit, and it's PWP 7.0.19. Some of my folders do what you describe, and some just do nothing when dropped onto Workflow window. It had nothing to do with the size of the folders either. I think I've figured out what it is: - if the fo...

Re: Updating Browse Info in bulk, across folders

Cheers, Dieter!

I'm just testing it now, and it seems that I can drop a folder of some 100 images and they get read in, but with bigger folders, nothing seems to happen when they are dropped onto Workflow window. I thought that maybe are read silently, but it's been an hour...

Blink and 1:1 comparison

If all images used in Blink are zoomed in to 1:1, the Blink window ignores it and shows them to fit the window. The only way I could figure out is to, in Blink mode, click on each image in Blink window, and enlarge it in turn. Blink is more useful now, with multiple images and manual switching. I on...

Stack Images problem

In Stack Images, I don't seem to be able set Curves and Density Masks - clicking on buttons don't bring curve dialogue window. Also, shift-clicking on Amount button doesn't toggle it to 0%. PWP seems to do something in both cases, but the windows don't come up.

Re: Local Contrast Enhancement

Two (semi-academic) questions re. Bilateral Sharpen:

1) Is sharpening done on each RBG channel separately, or on HSV-V?

2) Is there a way of 'softening' Sharpen Threshold?

Updating Browse Info in bulk, across folders

Granted, my computer is not the fastest and my folders contain sometimes 1000+ images, so it takes long minutes to update the Browseinfo for the first time. I wonder if there is a way of updating Browseinfo in several folders at once? This way I could let the computer do it at night, and save Browse...

Re: Local Contrast Enhancement

Just out of curiosity, 3 different blurs of the original crop of Jonathan's image, with radius 16. The radii may not mean the same thing between the blurring methods, I imagine, but the results are visually different because of the blur computations, not only the amount of blur. c.f. AS and the orig...

Re: Local Contrast Enhancement

I've been doing something similar with AS, not knowing the name for it... I always wandered why I usually liked the results using AS more than BS. It may have something to do with the 'un-thresholded' blurring step producing different results. The advantage of BS is that it seems faster than it used...

Re: Size of Circle of Confusion for Hyperfocal Distance

Cheers!

Fuji X-E2 (and other 16MP X's) have some 0.005 mm nominal pixel pitch. So the blob of 0.02 mm diameter would cover some 16 of them? Why is that considered sharp, in one sentence?
