Re: Show Clipped Pixels

In file preferences you set the threshold values for highlight clipping. If any channel has this value or greater, it is considered a highlight. My guess is that for some reason your white highlights don't go all the way to 255. (For 16-bit images, clipping is at the 16-bit equivalent of the thresho...

Re: Lens Flare

The idea is to match the lens flare - if the edge is sharp, the mask should be sharp - in this case the edge was soft. I don't remember exactly the value I used.

Re: Lens Flare

I created a circular mask over the lens flare and then used the mask blur tool to soften the edges a lot. Since the mask was red and the lens flare was red, it looks about the same.

Re: Lens Flare

The quickest way I know of to deal with this is to first make a soft mask that covers the lens flare area and then use it with the Levels and Color transformation. I set the color balance to a cyan to counteract the excess red and dropped the brightness and saturation for the masked area. If you wan...

Re: Eclipse HDR

To use PWP for this purpose, you first have to take calibration photos of a test target and process them the same way you will process your photos. 24 stops is probably overkill and is beyond what the calibration can handle. The procedure is described in the white paper: http://www.dl-c.com/Temp/dow...

Re: How to crop

Here is another option using the Layout transformation. Screen Shot.jpg I set the layout size to 15x10cm and created two panels: The first panel holds the image and fills the entire layout and is set to scale and crop the image to fit the panel. The second panel is totally transparent but has a 0.05...

Re: Image List in Composite

The list does scroll if you drag the cursor past the top or bottom of the list. As it happens I did add scroll bars to the image selection control after the last version, but unfortunately the change was never released.

Re: Some preliminary information on PWP 8.0

Other than running by emulation, it is impractical for a single developer to create versions for both platforms. Roughly 75% of the code is specific to the platform while only about 25% is portable. Since it is taking me a year to rewrite the Windows version it would take at least that long to produ...

Re: Chromatic Aberration question

This is a normal side-effect of the transformation. Chromatic aberration results from the refractive index of glass varying slightly with wavelength of light. This causes the focal length of the lens to depend on the color of the light which means there is a slight difference in magnification betwee...

Re: Some preliminary information on PWP 8.0

For the most part the mask dialog is similar to PWP 7.

I have added your requests to the list. Focus now is on putting the program back together so it is usable and then increment refinement later.
