Re: Custom monitor LUT profiles slow down PWP8 considerably.
Perhaps not relevant, but a NEC PA series monitor with a custom calibration does not slow things down. The difference may be that its LUT is in the monitor, not in a graphics chip in the computer's video module.

Re: Bug fix release 11-Dec-2018
So the scripts saved with no image names while this bug existed are unusable now? Or can you tell us a simple edit on them, at least for those who can wrestle with a binary or Unicode editor?

Re: Crash - Levels & Color
I did the same things, but no crash, no problem. Oct. 21 Alpha running on Windows 7. Tried a 48-bit .tif and then a .jpg.

Photog develops very old film, impressed by PWP8 work on it
A photographer found very old film, developed it, posted a shot with a lot of base fog. I did a little bit with Equalize (trial and error; I don't really understand it yet) and local contrast enhancement by means of a High Pass and Filter. He seems impressed. https://www.dpreview.com/forums/post/618...

Re: Are enhancements gaining on?
A few items for consideration: 1. The Overwrite Warning when saving an image is tedious, especially when the user simply wants to overwrite the existing file. Instead of a dropdown menu of only two choices, it would be faster if the two choices were presented at the beginning, and possibly make Canc...

Me too
I had a similar problem. I printed a 48-bit .tif file on 11-by-17 inch paper. The image itself was set up to occupy half the page. The print came out as a stack of six bands, each one with wildly different colors, except the middle band was accurate and the last band was black and white. As best as ...

What's embarrassing is that I tried to click on the message box that Winfriend posted.jsachs wrote:Sorry, that's embarrassing. I fixed the problem and will post an interim release shortly.

Histogram in transformations -- adapt to masks
I liked the innovation (PWP7?) that when applying a mask in a transformation that displays a histogram, it becomes a histogram for the masked area only. I hope it will carry into PWP8.

Re: Mask and operation time issue
You can make up to four masks without a transformation using Transformation/Masks Still confused. A mask made this way still seems to be attached to one of the images, the one that was highlighted when clicking on Transformation/Mask. Then if I go work on another image, perhaps in another column of...

Curses on videos. Text is so much easier to study an important paragraph, zip through a paragraph not relevant to me now, etc.
