Subtract Mask

I am in the process of compositing a number of solid color images, using masks which extend to the each edge. The process entails using multiple numbers of these masks and multiple images. During the process, I have to subtract portions of each mask, using the freehand subtract tool. When doing this...

Re: Mask Transform

And to add, even if I initially click the Display or Preview buttons prior to clicking the New Mask button, the view automatically goes to split screen (and zoomed in).

Mask Transform

Latest version. Tried a search to see if this specific question has been touched on before but the robot in charge of word searches tells me "mask transformation" is too common a term... When using the Masks Transform in Split Screen, both left and right sides start out zoomed in and the e...

Re: IR Photos of Costa Rica and Shropshire

The new site is MUCH better (and the images are actually in focus). Couple comments/questions: Are the infrared first done with an IR camera (or something), then converted to black and white, because many look just like a black and white photo? My two favourite images are the baked mudflats(?) in th...

Re: IR Photos of Costa Rica and Shropshire

Don't know if it my system (MacBook Air, OS Monterey), the intro thumbnails for the photo galleries are sharp, but when I click on and open/scroll the images, every one is blurry. Thought they might snap into focus after a bit of a wait, but nope...

Re: White balance

Thanks for the replies. I am not, currently, at my computer I use for editing, but will try and respond to a couple points. I did not try a reading of the pinkish background, but will do that when I can. I am using colour management, NEC monitor, Adobe RGB 1998. Did not try Multi Colour Balance. Wil...

White balance

I have been taking a bunch of photos of an object against, and backlit by, a white light panel. As a result, there is a lot of bright background, although the exposure is such that the background is not blown out. Because the light panel is not meant for photography, it has a wee bit of a colour cas...

Warp Sharpening

I am wondering about sharpening/blurring an image as it relates to Transformations, like Warp, which may change the shape/size of an image. From the Help details, in general, it is suggested to blur an image prior to reducing its size and sharpen an image after enlarging its size (I presume this is ...

Re: (non)Sequential file naming

Thanks Jonathan,

Did not know this, and it does help. Will be giving it a try.
